Patrick Ridley founded Ridley, McGreevy & Weisz in 2006 along with Kevin McGreevy and Barrett Weisz. Mr. Ridley’s practice includes criminal defense, white collar criminal defense, appeals, and general civil litigation in State and Federal courts. Mr. Ridley represents individuals and entities who are the subject of governmental scrutiny or have been charged with crimes. Mr. Ridley is a past President of the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar and a past Regional Co-Chair of the American Bar Association’s Criminal Justice Section’s White Collar Committee.

Mr. Ridley represents executives of large corporations either under investigation or indictment. He also represents corporations in connection with government investigations. Mr. Ridley also represents individuals, including lawyers, doctors, accountants and politicians who are either accused of crimes or are the subject of investigation.

Mr. Ridley has tried approximately 100 criminal and civil cases in state and federal court. He has received acquittals in cases ranging from complex financial crimes to first degree murder. He was the lead trial lawyer for the team that successfully litigated Colorado’s Congressional redistricting on behalf of the state Democratic Party. He recently helped gain the acquittal of a Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agent who was accused of committing computer crimes to assist the Republican candidate for governor of Colorado. Mr. Ridley has also assisted in the defense of capital crimes, where he has achieved life (as opposed to death) sentences.

As a former law clerk to William H. Erickson of the Colorado Supreme Court, Mr. Ridley is experienced in the criminal and civil appeals process, and has handled numerous appeals in state and federal court. Mr. Ridley’s civil litigation practice includes complex commercial litigation, personal injury, defense of professional licenses and political matters. Mr. Ridley also has substantial experience with general civil litigation on behalf of individuals and companies.

Prior to founding Ridley, McGreevy & Weisz in 2006, Mr. Ridley practiced criminal defense and civil litigation as a partner with the Denver law firm of Richlano & Ridley, P.C. Mr. Ridley has also served as a Deputy State Public Defender in Colorado; he began his career as a commercial litigator and criminal defense lawyer with the Denver law firm of Coghill and Goodspeed, P.C.

Mr. Ridley is a member of the American Bar Association, the America Trial Lawyers Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Colorado Bar Association, the Denver Bar Association, the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar, and the Faculty of Federal Advocates. Mr. Ridley is admitted to the Colorado State Bar, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Mr. Ridley received his juris doctorate from the University of Denver, where he was the Editor-in-Chief of the Denver University Law Review. Mr. Ridley received his undergraduate degree from DePauw University. Mr. Ridley was born Evanston, Illinois.
